Why Local Matters

This is Hildago. He has worked in construction his entire life, and he lives next door to Cinthia, one of the families we are supporting so that her daughter can return home to her family. Hildago is, with a small crew, building Cinthia’s home.

With every family that we empower, we find people within their community and in their network to come together and work together to support the family.

We work with construction workers, store owners, faith communities, directors of schools, and medical clinics, all local to the family, because the more that we involve the existing community, the more long-lasting collaboration there is, and the stronger the family and community are as a result. Local matters because community matters.
