REUNITED After NINE Years Apart!

Meet Ruth. In 2013, all six of her kids were taken to live in an orphanage for false claims that a neighbor made.

In 2013, the Honduran welfare office was shut down by presidential order and was restructured because it was found that funds were not being used appropriately. When the welfare office restructured, it left thousands of kids who had entered the system before the change in complete limbo, and their cases were forgotten. Even though Ruth was able to show that the claims were false, her case was buried with thousands of others from the prior welfare administration.

Ruth did everything that she could to stay in her kids' lives, even though legal processes kept them apart and even though they lived in an orphanage four hours away, she traveled eight hours round trip in a bus to see them and spend time as often as she could.

Over the years, her three oldest children aged out of the orphanage when they turned 18 and moved back to where Ruth lives. And recently, when the third oldest returned home, the welfare office was able to see that Ruth was perfectly capable and suited to take in her youngest three kids.

We are so excited to share that, for the first time since 2013, this family is REUNITED! They are so happy to be back together! Nine years was far too long of a wait, but thankfully they don't have to spend any more time apart!

We were able to help this family by advocating and advancing the legal process of their return home, furnishing their home with the appropriate amount of beds, and assisting with school costs as the new school year begins to help their transition!

We are so happy that this family can be together again! The future for them is BRIGHT, and we can't wait to see how each one continues to grow, with all of the support of their family behind them!
